“You like to travel, and that’s a problem” – My Former Boss

I sat in his cubicle, listening to my former boss explain that while we do have a few weeks of vacation time, we aren’t supposed to use it to actually go anywhere. Using a day here or there to take a long weekend would be best, especially if I take my computer with me and make sure to keep my Slack notifications on. I ignored him, took my vacation anyway (don’t worry, HR approved the request), and then put in my notice a few weeks after I returned. 

Life is too short to be chained to a desk, and while he might never leave the office I really hope that anyone reading this blog will take an adventure and try something new!
